An alkaline mouth rinse helps reduce the bacteria. It is really good if you have an infection or cavity. Ideally, your mouth should have a pH of 7 or higher to avoid decay (and of course no sugar and refined carbohydrates). Mix a half teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate in half a glass of warm water as a mouthwash. It will be even more effective if you add half a teaspoon of sea salt. You can also use potassium bicarbonate instead of sodium bicarbonate.
