Michael Vilkin supplies both kefir grains and kombucha starters. I partially dehydrate kefir grains and send a small amount of it mixed with dry milk in an ordinary envelope. Dry milk is needed to absorb any moisture coming out of kefir grains. I ask people to send me a self-addressed envelope WITHOUT a stamp, and one US dollar to cover postage and dry milk. Those who live in San Diego county, California, can pick up both kefir grains and kombucha starter for free. I do not send kombucha by mail, and I do not send anything to any other country, because it would require visiting a post office and standing in long lines.
