Remedy: Cold water
Cold water is the immediate treatment for burns. Every second counts after the initial burn. Hold the burn under cold water or a gently running tap for at least 10 minutes. Add a few ice blocks to the cold water if you can, especially if you live in a warm climate.

I agree with the pinching your nose treatment discussed in the Remedy section on this page, that is the main thing to do to stop the blood flow. I have also found drinking a glass of cool-cold water helps, sometimes immediately. Another time I applied an ice pack wrapped in a flannel, which also worked
