Ailment: Nosebleed
Remedy: Ghee (clarified butter)
Ghee is clarified butter. It contains a high proportion of saturated fat, which means it is usually solid at room temperature, and is less prone to damage at high temperatures. It is widely used in India for cooking and on the skin. It is suitable for cooking along with coconut oil, and other animal fats such as lard or tallow. In contrast, polyunsaturated oils (the range of "vegetable" oils found in supermarkets) are damaged by high temperatures of cooking and become quite toxic.

YES
If the bleeding doesn't stop after pinching the nose for a quarter of an hour, put a couple of drops of lukewarm ghee in each nostril. Ghee is haemostatic, known to stop bleeding.
