Sesame oil is widely used in Chinese and traditional medicine. It is warming and soothing. In ayurvedic medicine, it is the best calming oil for a disturbed vata dosha, or constitution.

Only use fresh, organic, cold pressed oil. Sesame oil is damaged by heating. The sesame oil that you buy in Asian grocery stores is toasted.

When you reach your destination, in the evening or before bed, rub a little warm sesame oil on your scalp and onto the soles of your feet.
