I used garlic powder, 2 Tbsp in an 8 oz glass of warm water. Swished about 5 times for a few seconds each and could feel the pain start to subside

I am going to try this today for my painless gum abscess until I get to the dentist. I was thinking about this treatment because a few months ago I had a boil on my back-instead of panicking and running to the doctor, I used a potent garlic/onion salve overnight. It stung and it stunk-after the third treatment, the boil was gone!

Just wanted to remark that I used jarred (but recently opened) minced, organic garlic that worked like a charm. It didn't burn my tongue or gum, but it did relieve the pain. It has been 6 hours pain free so far...

I used jared minced garlic today and it worked. I soaked a paper towel in the oils that were in the jar and put it between my cheek and gum. Within 20 minutes the abcess popped and the pain gone. I am still using it today after it popped to reduce the risk of infection. My mother who is a doctor gave me the heads up of garlic oil pulling and I am grateful because the pain is gone.

I am trying garlic after about 6 days of not being able to open my mouth more than 3 centimeters. At first i thought my wisdom tooth was just moving like it always does but then it swelled up and thus my limited movement. I am currently applying a cut clove to the spot, and within a second I took it out and opend my mouth plus teeth to about 7 centimeters. Wow! I'm keeping it going for a longer period and will try more later!

Well about 2 months ago i made an appt with my dentist because my wisdom teeth were starting to break through and as you could imagine i was in absolute pain. I was bummed to hear i had a bad mouth infection which needed a deep cleaning before my wisdom teeth could be extracted. In the process of moving at the time i missed my appt. Well i have new one 2 weeks but this morning i woke up to a swollen mouth and sensitive teeth. I rinsed with warm salt water which didnt really help. So i sliced a piece a garlic and placed it inside my cheek next to the tooth. It burned really bad but after about 10 mins the swelling was completly gone.

I once used garlic for an ear infection. Peeled and diced then wrapped it toilet paper and placed in ear overnight and Viola. My lower right wisdom tooth gum area has an abscess as we speak as I awoke with throbbing and swelling. About 10 minutes ago I chopped and placed in the hole of tooth and rubbed on tender gum located in the inner mouth not by cheek and holy crap BATMAN!!!!! IT BURNS. I stuck it out and no lie I'm feeling so Much better. I know I have to continue this but hey its great to know a remedy that helps so quickly.

Reply to Crystal:
Real, fresh garlic is the most effective.
Garlic powder also works, according to many visitors to Grow Youthful.
If it has been cooked, exposed to the air for some time, processed with preservatives or other chemicals added to increase the shelf life, as with some tins, bottles and jars of garlic, it may not be as effective.
